Product Reliability & Test Engineer (m/f/d)

(Stellen-ID: 2401)

Role description:

As part of our commitment to delivering high-quality and reliable products, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Product Reliability & Test Engineer to join our brand-new team in Albergaria-a-Velha, Portugal.

In this key role, you will manage and execute reliability and validation testing activities during product development, ensuring that both hardware and embedded software meet the highest standards of performance, robustness, and durability. This is a rare opportunity to make your mark from day one - defining processes, raising the bar, and building something that lasts.

What can you expect?

  • Requirements Analysis: Dig into product specifications and customer requirements to define what "good" really looks like, translating them into clear acceptance criteria and practical test cases that the whole team can work from.
  • Test Management: Own the planning and execution of environmental simulation tests, putting our products through their paces against heat, cold, vibration, humidity, and corrosion to make sure they survive real-world conditions.
  • Test Execution: Get hands-on with both hardware and embedded software and writing test specs, running tests at every stage of development, and making sure nothing ships unless it truly meets the bar.
  • Reliability Assurance in Lifecycle: Be the guardian of product quality beyond launch, tracking how reliability holds up through design changes, updates, and iterations, and pushing for improvements when it doesn't.
  • Goal Achievement: Keep quality and reliability goals on track, balancing rigor with pace, and making sure we meet both internal targets and any relevant compliance requirements without cutting corners.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously challenge the status quo, identifying gaps in how we catch errors early and bringing in new methods, tools, or practices that make our development process smarter and more robust.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the quality bridge across teams, partnering daily with Development, Purchasing, and Production to make sure reliability isn't an afterthought but a shared responsibility from day one.

What we offer:

  • A ground-floor opportunity to shape a brand-new team and influence how quality is done at Testo Portugal
  • An international working environment with flat hierarchies and agile practices
  • Real ownership and impact as your work will directly affect the products our customers rely on
  • Competitive remuneration and a comprehensive benefits package
  • A dynamic, forward-thinking organisation where your ideas are heard

Your profile:

Must-Have

  • Degree in Engineering on a compatible field
  • 3+ years of professional experience in a similar role, ideally within product development in a manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience testing hardware and embedded software
  • Solid knowledge of reliability and testing methods and tools
  • Very good command of written and spoken English

Nice to Have

  • SAP knowledge
  • Experience working in international or cross-cultural environments
  • Test automation and software development knowledge

You Are Someone Who...

  • Gets genuinely excited about finding and fixing problems before they reach the customer
  • Can work independently and bring structure to ambiguous situations
  • Communicates clearly and confidently across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced, cross-functional environment
