Electronics Development Engineer (m/f/d)

Role description:

As an Electronics Development Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and developing hardware solutions for test and measurement platforms. Your responsibilities will range from hands-on PCB design, prototyping, and debugging to cross-functional collaboration and compliance with industry standards - all aimed at delivering reliable products, supporting calibration workflows, and driving innovation in electronic system development.

  • Hardware Design & Development: Design, develop, and maintain multilayer PCB schematics and layouts for test and measurement platforms.
  • Electronic component selection and evaluation: Analyze datasheets, evaluate lifecycle status, and propose suitable alternatives or replacements.
  • Prototyping & Debugging: Assemble and rework SMD-based PCBs, perform manual soldering and reflow processes, and debug hardware prototypes.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation including BOMs, PCB layout guidelines, calibration standards, and test procedures.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and improve hardware and system performance, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, QA, Production, and Procurement teams to define testing requirements and integrate hardware/software solutions.
  • On-site Support: Provide support for software development, calibration systems, and real-time troubleshooting on the production floor.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure adherence to internal and external standards including EMC, RoHS, electrical safety, and measurement accuracy.
  • Design for Test & Manufacturing: Support DFT and DFM practices during hardware development.
  • Tool Management: Maintain component libraries and version-controlled design files using tools like Altium Designer.

Your profile:

  • Educational Requirements: Degree in Electronics Engineering or similar field
  • Work Experience: 3+ years of experience in similar projects and environments
  • Technical Skills: Experience with measurement systems, instrumentation, or calibration processes is preferred. Proficiency in design tools such as Altium Designer. Familiarity with OrCAD X or KiCad is a plus.
  • Language skills: Fluent in English and Portuguese; German is a plus
  • Personal Attributes: Conscientious and detail-oriented. Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills. Resilient under pressure and adaptable to changing environments. Ethical and responsible in documentation and testing.Team-oriented with strong collaborative spirit. Curious and proactive learner.
