Your tasks

We are looking for a Field Application Specialist - Microbiological Food Safety Testing to join our North American team. This role is based in West Chester, Pennsylvania, with a hybrid work arrangement and occasional domestic and international travel.

You’ll collaborate with experienced colleagues in the U.S. and Germany to support some of the largest U.S. food companies, share technical expertise, and help shape the future of on-site rapid microbiological food safety testing. You’ll grow through training, mentorship, and hands-on experience—while serving as a trusted, fact-driven ambassador for our technology.

Key Responsibilities include

  • Support customers through setup, onboarding, and ongoing use of our microbiological food safety testing solutions.
  • Deliver engaging webinars, workshops, and training sessions, and contribute to the development of presentations, videos, and other educational materials.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by supporting the effective use of our solutions and ensuring best practices in food production environmental monitoring.
  • Guide customers through the pilot, validation, and adoption phases of new technology, providing application support and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Act as a liaison between customers, Sales, and our development team in Germany by gathering feedback and translating it into actionable recommendations for product enhancements and case studies.
  • Participate in product development discussions by sharing insights from customer interactions and industry trends.
  • Represent Testo at conferences, exhibitions, and trade shows by presenting solutions, engaging with current and potential clients, and staying up to date on industry developments.

Your profile

Required Qualifications

  • You’re a self-starter, energized by fast-paced startup environments, and excited to shape the future of Food Safety.
  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry or a related field. 
  • Some hands-on experience with food safety testing methods or microbiological techniques (e.g., PCR, rapid microbiological methods, or equivalent lab experience).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Interest in food safety, regulatory standards, and innovative testing solutions.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and work as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with food safety and related regulatory standards (e.g., HACCP, FSMA, FDA, USDA, FSIS, AOAC).
  • Previous experience supporting customers or training others.
  • Comfort presenting to groups, either in person or virtually.
  • Willingness to travel for customer visits and industry events.
