Hardware Development Engineer (m/f/d)

Role description:

As a Hardware Development Engineer you will be at the forefront of developing robust, production-ready electronic systems. Your role combines advanced circuit design, system validation, cross-functional collaboration, and expert-level support to ensure electronic components and measurement systems meet high standards of performance, reliability, and scalability for mass production.

  • Electronics design for production: Design, develop, and verify electronic circuits and printed circuit boards (PCBs) with a focus on functionality, manufacturability, and cost-efficiency—ensuring high-performance solutions tailored for large-scale production.
  • Component selection & System qualification: Define, select, and qualify system components—such as sensors and critical electronics—by developing and executing rigorous test procedures to verify performance under real-world conditions.
  • Test Planning & Data-Driven Validation: Plan and conduct system-level tests, analyze performance data, and visualize key findings to approve products for series production. Leverage data insights to optimize designs and ensure production readiness.
  • Calibration & Adjustment Procedures: Create and manage reliable calibration routines and adjustment procedures for measurement systems, ensuring long-term accuracy and stability across production cycles.
  • Measurement System Development & Support: Continuously manitain and improve existing measurement systems and serve as a trusted expert for internal stakeholders, providing technical guidance and rapid support for electronics-related inquiries or challenges.
  • Cross-Departmental Electronics Expertise: Act as an expert contact person for electronics and measurement technology, supporting interdisciplinary teams and contributing to long-term innovation through technical leadership and solution-oriented collaboration.

Your profile:

  • Educational Requirements: A technical degree in electronics (e.g. electrical engineering or communications engineering)
  • Work Experience: 5+ years of experience in developing electronic circuits and PCB layout design
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of measurement techniques – e.g. for creating uncertainty budgets. Ideally, experience in calculating and simulating complex systems for risk assessment. Knowledge in electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is a plus
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English and Portuguese; German is a plus
  • Personal Attributes: Strong analytical thinking and good communication skills. A solution-oriented, confident way of working – and a true team player
