Role description:

We are searching for an experienced Java Developer to join our growing development team. The ideal candidate for this role has a passion for developing software solutions and a drive to stay up to date with the latest Java technologies.
- End-to-end responsibility: Take ownership of our product, from software design to implementation and on-call development of backend services in a cloud environment (AWS).
- Modern development practices: Apply methodologies like Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) to deliver high-quality and future-proof software.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Product Owner and your team to prioritize the backlog, define acceptance criteria, and refine user stories. Actively participate in all project phases using agile development methods.
- Cross-functional teamwork: Collaborate with other agile teams, business and IT departments, and quality assurance to ensure seamless integration and delivery of solutions.
- Event-driven solutions: Help us scale our systems by leveraging event-driven architectures, with experience in Kafka or similar technologies being a plus.

Your profile
- Professional Experience and Expertise: At least 3 years of experience in Java software development, ideally in a cloud environment, with strong knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and relational databases (e.g., MySQL). Experience with NoSQL databases like Cassandra is a plus.
- Cloud and DevOps Knowledge: Familiarity with AWS services (e.g., EKS, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS), cloud-agnostic approaches, and proficiency in setting up CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) and deploying applications on Kubernetes.
- Modern Development Practices: Solid understanding and practical experience with TDD and BDD methodologies to ensure high-quality software.
- Event-driven Solutions: Knowledge of Kafka and event-driven architectures is a plus, helping us scale and innovate further.
- Soft Skills and Teamwork: Passion for the development and design of cloud systems, a structured and self-reliant working style, and enjoyment of working in agile teams.
- Language Skills: Fluent English skills; German skills are a plus.
