Your tasks
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Sales Manager to lead our sales efforts in the US and Canada. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the food manufacturing market or food safety and demonstrate exceptional skills in territory management. This role requires a strategic thinker who can drive growth through effective sales techniques and foster relationships with clients across various sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets.
- Identify new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, and leveraging existing relationships.
- Develops product and application knowledge to effectively perform product demonstrations and technical presentations.
- Completes Department Operational requirements to report on activities necessary to achieve strategic targets
- Determines Customers’ needs, desires, and product pricing
- Maintains relations with customers by customer visits, attending conventions, annual meetings, trade associations, and seminars.

Your profile
Education & Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (Scientific or Technical background is a plus but not required)
- Proven track record in B2B sales, preferably in analyzing equipment for industrial food manufacturing / food safety
- 5+ years of experience in sales and business development, ideally in the industrial food manufacturing or food safety sector
- Experience in managing long sales cycles, particularly in regulated industries
- Ability to understand customer pain points and offer tailored solutions
Key Sales & Business Skills:
- Strong relationship management – Ability to build long-term partnerships with customers and key stakeholders
- Excellent negotiation & persuasion skills – Capable of closing deals and increasing revenue
- Strategic sales planning – Developing and executing sales strategies to expand market share
- Account management & customer retention – Maintaining strong connections with existing clients while identifying upselling opportunities
- Understanding of regulatory-driven markets – Familiarity with ISO 16140, HACCP, FSMA, and GMP regulations is a plus
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, especially Application Engineers and Product Management
Soft Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent communication & presentation skills, comfortable engaging with decision-makers at all levels
- Problem-solving mindset, able to navigate customer concerns and objections effectively
- Self-motivated & goal-driven, with a results-oriented approach to achieving sales targets
- Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple accounts and opportunities
Language & Additional Skills:
- Fluent in English, German is a plus
- Willingness to travel (regionally and internationally) to meet customers, attend trade shows, and conduct sales meetings (50%)
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and digital sales tools
